November 2009 - Strengthening and guiding leadership communication efforts
At our first member event held in Birmingham, 60 members came along to listen to Russell Grossman, Director of Communications, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, who spoke about the findings of the MacLeod report and what it said about leadership. Also how good leadership should involve a transfer of energy, which internal communicators can help to facilitate. In addition, he had good advice for helping leaders communicate in tough times.
Top Banana kindly sponsored the event with Nick Terry offering some tips and tactical advice on getting leaders to recognise the need for leadership communication and reinvigorating the company values and vision.
Mark Hill, Head of Internal Communication at AXA Life, spoke about coordinating CEO and senior leadership messages and moving from being the “newsletter writers” to strategic advisors. He talked about what had gone well and what hadn’t, with valuable lessons learnt.

November 2009 - Building trust through senior leadership communication
At our first member event held in Melbourne, Australia, there was a fantastic turn out of 80 Melcrum members.
